Ricardo Olenewa makes technology useful for people. He is currently engaged on a Voice Interaction Design project where he is creating a conversational speech system to allow people to talk to their email on a BlackBerry device.

Ricardo has worked in information technology as a project manager, programmer, and educator. He has consistently delivered relevant technological solutions to companies across Canada. In every engagement–from developing web technology for health care to designing data communication networks–Ricardo’s approach begins by connecting people with the the ideas and systems that make them effective.

As an entrepreneur, Ricardo has been deeply engaged in probing and understanding his market’s needs and desires. His commitment to research helped him define the business cases and user interfaces for successful online services like The Informed Life, and ePartnerup.

Ricardo holds a Master of Arts Degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Waterloo, and is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. He has been the recipient of a number of scholarships. In 2001, he was nominated for a teaching excellence award by his students at George Brown College in Toronto.
